โš”๏ธ Main Battle Arena Build Contest ๐ŸŸ๏ธ

Build Valeriano's official PvP battle arena for a chance to win $1,000 in Minecraft server money.

We are looking for someone to build the official PvP battle arena for the Valeriano Minecraft Server!

Anyone may participate by creating an original battle arena somewhere in an unused part of the wild. Once the builds are finished, the server administrator will inspect the submissions and choose one to become the server's permanent main battle arena.

๐Ÿ’ฐ Prize: $1,000 in Minecraft server money

This is in-game currency for the Valeriano Minecraft Server economy. It is not real money. If several players work together on the winning arena, they should decide among themselves how the prize will be divided.

โฐ Deadline: Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 6:00 AM Philippine Time

All arena submissions must be completed and submitted by the deadline. Late submissions may not be included when the winning arena is selected.

๐Ÿ—๏ธ Required areas

Every arena submission must include all four of these areas:

One shared waiting room or lobby

  • It should comfortably hold approximately eight players.
  • Only one shared waiting room is required.
  • The two teams do not need separate waiting rooms.

Two clearly separated team starting areas

  • Place them on opposite sides of the battlefield.
  • Each side should have enough room for several players to spawn without becoming stuck inside one another.
  • Players should not be able to attack the opposing team immediately from their starting position.

One protected spectator area

  • Spectators should have a clear view of the battle.
  • Players inside the battlefield should not be able to easily enter or attack the spectator area.
  • Spectators should not be able to interfere with the fight.

One main combat area

  • This is where the actual PvP match will take place.
  • The size, layout, theme, terrain, and fighting style are open to the builder's creativity.

The server administrator will handle the arena-system configuration after the winning build is selected, including team assignments, spawn points, waiting locations, spectators, inventories, rewards, restoration, and protection.

Builders do not need to configure any plugins or commands.

๐ŸŽจ Be creative

The battlefield design is intentionally open-ended. Builders are encouraged to create something original and memorable.

Possible themes include:

  • ๐Ÿ›๏ธ A grand colosseum
  • ๐Ÿฐ A ruined fortress
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ A castle courtyard
  • ๐ŸŒฟ A jungle fighting pit
  • ๐Ÿ•ณ๏ธ An underground cavern
  • ๐Ÿš๏ธ An abandoned village
  • ๐Ÿ”๏ธ A mountain stronghold
  • ๐Ÿ—ฟ An ancient temple
  • ๐ŸŒ‹ A dangerous volcanic arena
  • ๐ŸŒฒ An arena built into the natural landscape

These are only examples. You are free to create a completely different theme.

Builders may add:

  • Terrain and elevation changes
  • Cover and defensive positions
  • Platforms and towers
  • Bridges
  • Tunnels
  • Side routes
  • Small hazards
  • Destructible decorations
  • Interesting landmarks
  • Clearly marked team colors
  • Entrances for competitors and spectators

The arena does not have to be perfectly symmetrical, but neither team should have a major unfair advantage.

๐Ÿ“ฑ Design for mobile players

Many players use Bedrock Edition on mobile phones, so the arena should be comfortable to navigate with touchscreen controls.

Please avoid:

  • Extremely difficult jumps required to move around
  • Tight spaces where mobile players become trapped
  • Excessively narrow bridges
  • Complicated parkour as the only route
  • Areas that are too dark to see opponents
  • Tiny buttons or difficult redstone controls
  • Hidden routes that provide an overwhelming advantage
  • Long ladders or vines that are frustrating during combat

Creative movement options are welcome, but normal players should still be able to understand and navigate the battlefield.

๐Ÿ“ฆ Optional chest locations

Builders may place a few empty chests around the battlefield as possible supply locations.

These may later be used for temporary match supplies such as:

  • ๐Ÿ— Food
  • ๐Ÿน Arrows
  • โš”๏ธ Weapons
  • ๐Ÿงช Potions
  • ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Utility or defensive items
  • Other arena-specific supplies

Do not place personal belongings, expensive materials, or valuable survival items inside these chests.

Automated chest stocking is not guaranteed and will be evaluated separately while the arena system is configured. The chests are optional and should not be required for the arena to function.

๐Ÿšง Building rules

  • Build in an unused wild area away from homes, claims, farms, shops, roads, portals, and active projects.
  • Do not damage, remove, or modify another player's property.
  • Leave enough space around the arena for protection boundaries and future adjustments.
  • Use normal server blocks and mechanics.
  • Do not require players to install client-side mods.
  • Keep redstone reasonable and performance-friendly.
  • Do not create continuously running machines or large systems that may cause server lag.
  • Give the battlefield clear visual boundaries.
  • Make it obvious which areas are intended for competitors, spectators, and waiting players.
  • Decorative rooms are encouraged, but gameplay should remain the priority.
  • The arena does not need to be enormous.
  • Do not configure commands, plugins, rewards, protection regions, or team systems yourself.
  • Do not fill arena chests with personal items.
  • Do not build over another person's arena submission.

โŒ Avoid these problems

Please avoid designs containing:

  • Inaccessible hiding places
  • Locations where players can permanently escape the fight
  • Unavoidable instant-death traps
  • One-sided sniper positions
  • Spawn points exposed directly to enemy attacks
  • Areas where players can become permanently stuck
  • Excessive water, cobwebs, or other mechanics that make movement frustrating
  • Extremely large empty spaces with no cover
  • Excessive visual clutter that makes opponents difficult to see
  • Lag-producing entities or redstone
  • Unprotected spectator locations
  • Routes that only Java players can comfortably use

๐Ÿ† Judging criteria

The winning arena will be selected based on:

  • Creativity
  • Overall appearance
  • Fairness between teams
  • Quality of the combat layout
  • Mobile and Bedrock usability
  • Spectator visibility
  • Server performance
  • Clear boundaries
  • Ease of configuring the arena
  • How enjoyable it feels during an actual battle

The biggest or most expensive arena will not automatically win. A smaller arena with better gameplay may be selected over a massive build.

๐Ÿ“ How to submit your arena

When your arena is complete, send the following information to the server administrator before the deadline:

  1. Arena name
  2. World coordinates
  3. A short description of the theme
  4. Screenshots, if possible
  5. The names of everyone who helped build it
  6. Any special features or hazards that should be tested

Do not submit an arena until its main construction is complete and it can be safely inspected.

๐ŸŽ‰ Good luck, builders!

This is your opportunity to create a permanent part of the Valeriano Minecraft Server.

The winning arena will become the server's official location for PvP battles, team matches, tournaments, and future community events.

Build something creative, fair, memorable, and fun to fight in.
